Chocolate Chip Snowball Cookies

Chocolate Chip Snowball Cookies are bite-sized, buttery cookies loaded with chopped nuts and semi-sweet chocolate chips, baked until golden on the edges and then rolled in powdered sugar for a sweet, delicate coating. Their tender, crumbly texture contrasts with the chocolate and nut crunch, making them a comforting treat for holidays or everyday snacking.

Description

These cookies start by creaming room-temperature butter with granulated sugar, then incorporating egg and vanilla for moisture and flavor. Dry ingredients including all-purpose flour and salt are sifted and folded into the dough along with chopped walnuts or pecans and chocolate chips.

The dough is portioned into one-inch balls and baked at a moderate temperature until the bottoms develop a slight golden edge. After cooling slightly, the cookies are rolled in powdered sugar, giving them their characteristic snowball appearance. The combination of nutty crunch, melty chocolate, and sweet powdered sugar creates a balanced texture and flavor.

They can be stored in airtight containers and are suitable for serving with tea or coffee, or as a festive holiday cookie.
