Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookies

These Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookies bring together soft butter and sugars creamed with vanilla, combined with flour, baking soda and powder, and a pinch of salt. Chunks of dark chocolate and chopped walnuts add a bittersweet and nutty dimension. The cookies bake until edges turn golden, keeping centers just soft for a balanced chew and crispness.

Description

The recipe involves creaming softened butter with both granulated and light brown sugar until fluffy, then mixing in vanilla extract and a large egg. Dry ingredients including all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt are added and gently mixed to avoid overworking the dough. Dark chocolate chunks and chopped walnuts are folded in last to disperse rich, bittersweet flavor and nutty texture.

Cookies are portioned onto lined baking sheets and baked at 350 degrees Fahrenheit until just golden at the edges with centers appearing slightly undercooked; this ensures a tender crumb with a slight chew inside. Cooling on the pan before transferring to a wire rack solidifies their texture. The balanced sweetness from sugars combines with deep chocolate and walnut accents, making these cookies a classic, textured treat.
