Chocolate Coconut Balls

Chocolate Coconut Balls are no-bake treats combining desiccated coconut, powdered sugar, and sweetened condensed milk shaped into firm balls and coated in melted chocolate with shortening for a smooth finish. After chilling until set, the chocolate coating solidifies, creating a sweet and chewy coconut center protected by a glossy, rich chocolate exterior. These bite-sized confections are easy to prepare and store chilled for a cool sweet snack or dessert.

Description

This recipe mixes desiccated coconut and powdered sugar with sweetened condensed milk to form a sticky, sweet dough. The mixture is shaped into one-inch balls and chilled until firm. In the meantime, chocolate chips are melted with shortening to improve melting consistency and coating texture. Each coconut ball is dipped into the melted chocolate, which hardens as the balls cool on waxed paper in the refrigerator.

The finished chocolate coconut balls have a chewy, moist interior balanced by a firm, glossy chocolate shell. They are best kept refrigerated to maintain shape and freshness and serve well as a simple homemade candy or dessert option.
