Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Chocolate Covered Strawberries feature fresh strawberries dipped in melted chocolate for a glossy, sweet coating. Optional white chocolate drizzles and sprinkles add decorative contrast and texture. These treats deliver a crisp burst of juicy strawberry wrapped in smooth chocolate, ideal for desserts or special occasions.

Description

Starting with washed and dried fresh strawberries, the recipe involves melting chocolate carefully—often using a double boiler method to avoid burning. Each strawberry is dipped and rotated in the melted chocolate to achieve even coverage, with excess chocolate allowed to drip off. Once dipped, the strawberries are placed on parchment or wax paper to cool and harden.

Optional white chocolate is melted separately, placed into a bag, and used for drizzling fine lines over the coated strawberries. Sprinkles can also be added before the coating sets for extra decoration. The chocolate provides a firm shell that contrasts with the juicy strawberries inside, making each bite a combination of textures and flavors.

Once set, these chocolate covered strawberries can be refrigerated and kept fresh for up to two days before serving. They work as elegant desserts or gifts and showcase a straightforward but attractive presentation.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 20 strawberry more or less depending on the size, fresh
  • 12 ounces melting chocolate (chocolate melts or chocolate bark)
  • 6 ounces white chocolate optional, melting chocolate
  • decorating sprinkles to taste

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry strawberries. Set aside.
  2. Melt chocolate according to package instructions or use a double-boiler method. We did the double-boiled method using a pressure cooker. We placed 1 cup of water in the pressure cooker and pressed "saute" then placed a large glass bowl over the top. This allows the chocolate to melt and too hot.
  3. Stir chocolate until smooth and melted.
  4. Dip each strawberry into the chocolate and rotate until covered in chocolate. Allow excess chocolate to drip off.
  5. Place strawberries on a sheet of parchment paper of wax paper to cool and harden.
  6. Melt white chocolate (optional) and place in a plastic Ziplock bag. Using sharp scissors, snip off a tiny bit of the corner and drizzle over the top of the strawberries. If you prefer, you can sprinkle sprinkles over the strawberries as a decoration as well.
  7. These chocolate covered strawberries can be cooled and refrigerated for up to 2 days before serving.
