Chocolate Fudge Recipe

This Chocolate Fudge Recipe creates a rich, creamy confection by combining sugar, evaporated milk, butter, milk chocolate, and semi-sweet chocolate chips. The addition of marshmallow creme and vanilla extract contributes to a smooth texture and balanced flavor. Optional chopped walnuts add a pleasant crunch to the finished fudge.

Description

The recipe involves cooking a mixture of sugar, evaporated milk, and butter to a boil before combining it with melted milk chocolate, semi-sweet chips, marshmallow creme, and vanilla extract. This process yields a smooth, firm fudge after cooling. The stirring and beating stages are key to achieving the characteristic creamy texture, while the gentle boil ensures proper sugar concentration.

Walnuts are an optional ingredient that add a nutty contrast to the sweet, chocolate base. The fudge is poured into a prepared pan to set, chilled to expedite firming, and then cut into squares for serving.

This fudge can be stored wrapped or airtight in the refrigerator, maintaining its texture and flavor for days. Using parchment or greased pans facilitates easy removal, and chilling helps the fudge solidify uniformly before slicing.

  • 1 (12-ounce) can evaporated milk
  • ½ cup butter
  • 8 ounces milk chocolate bars
  • 12 ounces semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 (7-ounce) jar marshmallow creme
