Description
Starting with melted butter and peanut butter, marshmallows are stirred in over low heat until fully incorporated, creating a sticky binding layer. Crisped rice cereal is folded into this mixture, then pressed evenly into a greased 9x13 inch pan to form the base layer. Milk chocolate chips are melted separately and spread over the top, then sprinkled with chopped peanuts if desired, adding a crunchy contrast to the soft base.

Ingredients
- 6 cups rice krispie cereal
- ½ cup peanut butter (smooth or crunchy)
- ¼ cup butter unsalted
- 40 marshmallows regular size or 1 ⅓ cups mini marshmallows
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips
- peanuts optional garnish; chopped
Instructions
- In a large pot, over low heat, melt butter and peanut butter until combined. Add marshmallows and continue to stir until they are all melted and incorporated with the peanut butter mixture.
- Fold in the rice krispies and combine until everything is mixed together.
- In a greased baking dish, 9”x13”, pour and press the mixture into an even layer.
- Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave. Pour over the rice krispie layer and spread smooth layer to cover. Scatter chopped peanuts on top, if desired.
- Chill in the refrigerator for approximately 2 hours or until chocolate is set.
- Cut into squares and enjoy!
