Chocolate Pecan Pie Recipe

Chocolate Pecan Pie Recipe features a rich filling of melted butter and semi-sweet chocolate blended with sugars, eggs, and pecans poured into an unbaked pie crust. Baking sets the filling into a dense yet tender custard topped with pecans. This pie blends traditional pecan pie sweetness with chocolate depth for a decadent dessert often enjoyed chilled or at room temperature.

Description

The Chocolate Pecan Pie Recipe uses a buttery pie crust filled with a mixture of melted butter and chocolate, combined with both granulated and brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Coarsely chopped pecans are spread at the bottom of the crust to provide textural contrast and nutty flavor beneath the rich chocolate filling. The filling is poured over and garnished with whole pecans if desired.

Baking at 325°F for 60 to 70 minutes produces a custard that firms as it cools, characterized by a crackled top and a center that is no longer jiggly. The pie's texture is dense and moist with a pleasing chocolate-nut combination. After cooling, it is best served at room temperature or chilled.

This pie stores well at room temperature or refrigerated for 3 to 4 days. For longer storage, it may be tightly wrapped and frozen for up to two months without loss of quality.
