Chocolate Peppermint Fudge

Chocolate Peppermint Fudge blends semisweet and milk chocolate chips with marshmallow creme and evaporated milk to create a smooth, creamy base. Peppermint extract and crushed candy canes add a refreshing mint flavor and a slight crunch, making this fudge a festive treat. The mixture is cooked and boiled to set, then chilled until firm, producing a rich and sweet confection perfect for holiday gifting and indulgence.

Description

This Chocolate Peppermint Fudge recipe melts together marshmallow creme, sugar, evaporated milk, butter, and salt over medium heat. The mixture is brought to a boil and cooked for five minutes with constant stirring, ensuring the right texture and consistency. Once removed from heat, a combination of milk and semisweet chocolate chips is stirred in until fully melted and smooth.

Peppermint and vanilla extracts add characteristic flavor, while crushed candy canes sprinkled on top provide peppermint crunch and a decorative finish. The fudge is poured into a foil-lined pan and chilled for about two hours until firm enough to cut into squares.

This fudge is dense yet creamy, delivering combined notes of chocolate and cool peppermint. It keeps well in the refrigerator for up to two weeks and is commonly packaged in small boxes for edible holiday gifts. The preparation requires precise cooking temperatures to achieve the classic fudge texture, making it a rewarding treat for holiday celebrations.
