Chocolate Poke Cake

Report
Chocolate Poke Cake is a moist devil’s food cake baked in a 9x13 pan, poked with holes, and soaked in sweetened condensed milk mixed with chocolate sauce. Topped with a whipped chocolate cream made from heavy cream, cocoa powder, and powdered sugar, it offers a rich, indulgent texture balanced by creamy topping and extra chopped chocolate for crunch.

Description

This recipe starts with a boxed devil’s food cake mix baked according to package directions. Once slightly cooled, the cake is poked evenly with a wooden spoon to allow a mixture of sweetened condensed milk and chocolate sauce to soak into the cake, creating moist, rich pockets throughout.

After refrigerating overnight to meld flavors and texture, the cake is topped with a whipped chocolate cream made by beating heavy cream, cocoa powder, and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. Additional chocolate sauce is drizzled over the topping and finished with chopped chocolate for texture contrast.

The chilled cake offers a creamy, chocolatey experience with softness inside and a smooth whipped topping, suitable for dessert or celebrations.

  • egg oil, water, etc
  • 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup chocolate sauce
  • Ingredients for the topping
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • chocolate chopped for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Make cake mix according to package directions and bake in a well-greased 9×13 pan according to package.
  3. Allow the cake to cool for about 10 minutes, then poke holes with a wooden spoon all over cake, about 1-inch apart.
  4. Pour the sweetened condensed milk and 3/4 of the chocolate sauce over the top of the cake and allow it to seep into the holes that were poked into the cake.
  5. Cover and refrigerate the cake overnight.

  9. Enjoy!
