Chocolate Pretzel Bark

Report
Chocolate Pretzel Bark combines melted chocolate with crunchy pretzels and a mix of diced dried fruits like cranberries and mango, plus coconut shavings, resulting in a textured sweet-and-salty treat. The chocolate is gently melted with coconut oil to keep it smooth, then poured onto parchment before toppings are sprinkled on and the bark is hardened in the freezer. This no-bake bark can be broken into pieces for snacking, gifting, or dessert sides.

Description

The Chocolate Pretzel Bark features a base of melted chocolate mixed with coconut oil to achieve a glossy finish and prevent burning. The toppings include diced dried cranberries, mango, coconut shavings, and broken pretzels that adhere to the chocolate before it sets. Once spread thinly on parchment, the bark is chilled in the freezer to harden, enabling it to be broken into irregular pieces. The combination of sweet chocolate and tropical dried fruits balanced with salty crunchy pretzels creates a layered flavor and texture.

The bark serves well as a simple dessert, a snack to share, or as a homemade gift. Storing it frozen or in the fridge keeps it firm and preserves the contrast of flavors. This approach is adaptable: other toppings like nuts, candies, or cereals can be used to vary the flavor or texture.

Ingredients

Servings
  • bags chocolate chips any kind
  • cup dried cranberries diced
  • cup dried mango diced
  • cup coconut dried shavings
  • ½ tbsp coconut oil
  • handful of pretzels

Instructions

  1. Heat a sauce pan over low heat. Add coconut oil and give it a swirl with a rubber spatula to coat bottom of pan.
  2. Add chocolate chips of your choice. Stir continuously so the chocolate doesn’t burn.
  3. After the chocolate is melted, pour and spread evenly onto a sheet pan that is lined with parchment paper.
  4. Dice dried mangos, cranberries, and coconut shavings. Break pretzels. Sprinkle on top of chocolate.
  5. Place entire sheet pan in the freezer. Let chocolate bark freeze for 20-30 minutes or until hardened.
  6. Use a knife to break apart. Store in the freezer (or fridge).

Notes

  • Stir the chocolate continuously while melting to avoid burning and ensure smoothness.
  • Feel free to experiment by adding different toppings such as nuts, chopped candy bars, or cereals for variation.
