Chocolate Turtle Cookies
Description
This recipe combines softened butter with granulated and brown sugar creamed together before adding eggs and vanilla. Cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt are mixed into the batter, followed by all-purpose flour, chocolate chips, and chopped pecans to create a hearty cookie dough. Rolling dough into balls and freezing for 30 minutes helps maintain shape during baking. Baking at 325°F results in a cookie with chewy texture and rich chocolate flavor contrasted by crunchy pecans.
After baking, warm caramel mixed with heavy cream is drizzled over the cookies, providing a sweet, gooey topping reminiscent of turtle candy. Cooling on a wire rack allows the caramel to set. These cookies serve well as indulgent treats or dessert additions.
