Christmas Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe
Description
The recipe blends butter and vegetable oil with light brown and granulated sugars, creamed together to create a moist base. After eggs are added, dry ingredients including flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and vanilla extract are incorporated. Half the M&Ms are chopped and folded in along with sprinkles and half the chocolate chips. Dough balls are scooped, topped with remaining whole M&Ms, and baked at 350°F until edges set.
The combination of fats provides a tender and chewy interior with a slight crisp edge. The assortment of chocolate chips and red-green M&Ms decorated with sprinkles makes them visually festive and flavorful, offering bursts of chocolate and sugar in every bite. Cooling on the baking sheet before transferring helps sets the cookies.
These cookies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for several days or frozen to preserve freshness. Dough can be refrigerated or frozen prior to baking, making them convenient for holiday preparations and parties.
