Christmas cookie bars are chewy and delicious. The M&Ms add a festive pop, making them perfect for any party!

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup butter
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour sifted
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup Christmas M&M's

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13 baking pan.
- In a microwave safe bowl melt the butter.
- In a mixing bowl add the melted butter, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla. Mix well.
- Add the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Mix well and pour into the 9x13 pan.
- Evenly sprinkle the M&Ms and chocolate chips over the top. Bake for 24-28 minutes.
Notes
- Make Ahead: Covered tightly with aluminum foil or plastic wrap, these will keep on the counter for up to 3 days. To reheat, just place in the microwave for 15 seconds to make them gooey and warm.Variations: You can swap out the chocolate chips for a variety of other toppings to change up these bars. Here are some of our favorite combinations:o Crushed Andes pieces or Peppermint pieceso Candy Mix-in's: Toffee bits, candy canes, Oreoso Add any of your favorite chips: Semi-sweet-, dark, white, butterscotch, cinnamon chips.
