Ci Ci’s Chocolate Dessert Pizza

Ci Ci’s Chocolate Dessert Pizza transforms pizza dough into a sweet treat topped with creamy chocolate pudding and a crisp, buttery crumb topping. The contrast between the soft baked crust and the slightly crisp crumb creates a delightful texture. Ideal for those who enjoy a combination of chocolate and a pie-like crumb finish, making it a fun twist on traditional dessert pizzas.

Description

Ci Ci’s Chocolate Dessert Pizza uses standard pizza dough as the base, baked briefly to set before spreading with instant chocolate pudding. The topping is completed with a crumb mixture of flour, sugars, butter, and salt that crisps up in the oven, adding a crunchy texture that complements the smooth pudding. Baking at 450 degrees initially helps form a sturdy crust that holds the pudding and crumb topping well without sogginess.

The crumb topping is similar to those used for fruit pies and lends a rich, buttery, and lightly sweet counterpoint to the chocolate pudding. Together, these elements create a dessert that balances creamy and crunchy textures.

This dessert pizza is straightforward to assemble and cuts into wedge-shaped servings, functioning well as a casual dessert or a sweet snack option. The recipe’s crumb topping recipe can also be adapted for other desserts.
