Cinnamon Banana Bread

Cinnamon Banana Bread here features mashed bananas mixed with avocado oil, maple syrup, eggs, and milk, combined with flour and baking soda for a moist loaf. A cinnamon swirl made of brown sugar and cinnamon layered within gives a sweet spice ribbon throughout the bread. Baking at 325°F develops a tender crumb with a warm cinnamon aroma, perfect for slicing and serving as a breakfast or snack option.

Description

This Cinnamon Banana Bread blends ripe mashed bananas with avocado oil or similar fats, pure maple syrup, eggs, milk, vanilla extract, flour, and baking soda. The batter creates a moist and dense bread with natural sweetness from bananas and syrup. A cinnamon swirl made from brown sugar and cinnamon is layered in the loaf pan between half portions of the batter, creating a distinct cinnamon sugar layer throughout the bread after baking.

Baking at a moderate temperature allows the loaf to cook evenly without overbrowning, producing a soft crumb that holds together well for slicing. The cinnamon swirl adds bursts of warm spice flavor that contrasts with the sweet banana base.

This bread is suitable for breakfast, brunch, or an afternoon snack. It pairs well with butter or preserves and can be served warm or cooled.

Options allow swapping brown sugar for coconut sugar, oil for butter or coconut oil, and all-purpose flour for gluten-free blends. Proper baking time ensures the loaf isn’t overbaked, keeping it moist.

Notes

  • Use coconut sugar as a refined sugar-free alternative in the cinnamon swirl and bread.
  • Feel free to substitute avocado oil with melted coconut oil, melted butter, or vegetable oil.
  • Both all-purpose and gluten-free 1-to-1 flour blends work well in this recipe.
  • Any milk type can be used, including dairy-free options.
  • Do not overbake; remove when a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Allow the bread to cool completely before slicing to maintain structure.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 1 month.
