Cinnamon Roll French Toast Casserole Recipe

Cinnamon Roll French Toast Casserole layers cut cinnamon roll dough pieces soaked in a mixture of eggs, heavy cream, cinnamon, and vanilla, baked until golden with pecans on top, then finished with a warm drizzle of the cinnamon roll icing. The dish offers a soft, sweet, and custardy texture with familiar cinnamon roll flavors in a convenient baked breakfast casserole format.

Description

This casserole starts by melting butter in the baking dish, then cutting store-bought cinnamon rolls into quarters placed in a single layer. The egg mixture combines eggs, heavy cream, cinnamon, and vanilla extract, which is poured over the dough pieces, allowing them to soak before baking. Pecans are sprinkled on top for texture and nutty flavor. Baking at 375°F for 20-25 minutes develops a golden brown exterior while maintaining a tender center. After slight cooling, the cinnamon roll icing is warmed and drizzled over the dish, adding a sweet glaze.

The resulting casserole blends the richness of French toast custard and the spice and sweetness of cinnamon rolls. The pecans provide crunch that contrasts the soft dough. This dish is suitable for a comforting breakfast or brunch without individual roll preparation.
