Cinnamon sugar pretzels

Report
This recipe creates crunchy pretzel twists coated evenly in a sweet cinnamon sugar glaze. The mixture of brown and granulated sugar with cinnamon clings to the vegetable oil-coated pretzels, which are then baked at a low temperature until the coating dries and crisps up. The result is a lightly spiced, sweet snack or treat that highlights the contrast between the salty pretzels and the sweet cinnamon sugar.

Description

Cinnamon sugar pretzels combine salty, crunchy pretzel twists with a caramelized coating of brown sugar, granulated sugar, vegetable oil, and cinnamon. The pretzels are first tossed in a spiced sugar and oil mixture ensuring the coating adheres well before baking at 200°F until the mixture dries and forms a crisp glaze. This low-temperature baking process prevents burning while allowing the sugars to meld lightly with the pretzel surface. Once cooled, these pretzels offer a sweet and slightly spicy flavor with a firm, crunchy texture. They make a practical snack for enjoying with tea or coffee or as a homemade gift.
