Classic Beef Meatloaf

Classic Beef Meatloaf combines ground beef with milk-soaked breadcrumbs, egg, and seasonings to create a tender, moist loaf. This recipe uses a ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard glaze that bakes on top, adding a tangy layer of flavor. Cooking in a loaf pan helps the meatloaf keep its shape and ensures even cooking, making it a reliable comfort food dish.

Description

Classic Beef Meatloaf includes ground beef mixed with breadcrumbs soaked in milk, minced onion, egg, and simple seasonings like thyme, salt, and pepper. The mixture is formed in a loaf pan, allowing it to hold its structure while baking at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. The topping of ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard adds a bright, savory contrast to the meat's richness, and it caramelizes on the surface during the one-hour bake time.

The texture is firm yet moist thanks to the soaked breadcrumbs and egg binding, delivering a satisfying slice. This meatloaf can be served as a main with sides like mashed potatoes or vegetables. Using a baking sheet under the loaf pan helps catch drippings and keeps the oven clean.

For best results, mix ingredients thoroughly by hand to evenly distribute seasoning throughout the meat. The glaze should be spread evenly before baking for consistent flavor and color.
