Classic Green Bean Casserole is made the way my mother and grandmother made it! Green beans, cheese, crispy fried onions and a condensed cream soup.

Ingredients
- 1 can condensed cream soup, mushroom, celery or chicken
- ½ cup milk
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce or, Worcestershire sauce
- 4 cups green beans, fresh, cut (or 3 cans drained)
- 4 cups chicken broth or water
- ½-3/4 cup cheese, shredded, divided (optional)
- ⅔-1 cup French's French Fried Onions
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Prepare a casserole dish with butter or non-stick spray, set aside.
- Boil green beans in chicken broth or water until they are bright green, roughly five minutes.
- In a mixing bowl combine the soup, milk, soy sauce, black pepper, and ½ of the shredded cheese. Stir in beans and ⅓ cup fried onions. Pour mixture into the lightly greased casserole dish.
- Bake for 25 minutes or until the bean mixture is hot and bubbling. Remove from oven and set oven temperature to broil. Stir bean mixture. Sprinkle the top of the casserole with remaining fried onions and then shredded cheese, using more or less as desired. Return casserole to the oven, even if not heated fully to broil yet for 5-10 minutes or until the onions and cheese are golden brown. Serve and enjoy. Recipe adapted from Campbells
