Classic Homemade Garlic Bread
Description
Classic Homemade Garlic Bread combines a butter-based garlic spread with aromatic Italian seasoning and parsley, applied generously onto halved French or Italian bread. Baking at a high temperature crisps the edges and melts the butter mixture, creating a savory crust with hints of garlic and herbs. Adding Parmesan cheese before baking introduces a subtle cheesy layer and a slightly salty finish.
The texture contrast between the crunchy toasted edges and the tender bread center balances well with the rich garlic butter flavor. Baking bread this way enhances the aroma and makes it ideal for dinner accompaniment or snacking.
This garlic bread is best served warm with pasta dishes or alongside soups and salads. You can adjust slices to your preference for serving size.
For longer storage, treat the bread with the garlic butter mixture and freeze in slices wrapped individually. When ready to serve, bake from frozen and broil briefly for crispiness and bubbly cheese. This allows you to prepare in advance and reheat as needed without sacrificing texture or flavor.
