Classic Plum Crumble Recipe

Classic Plum Crumble combines fresh diced plums in a lemon-sweetened filling with a buttery, lightly sweetened flour-based crumble topping. The topping bakes to a golden crust that contrasts with the juicy softness of the cooked plums, making a traditional fruit dessert with balanced textures.

Description

The crumble dough is quickly made in a food processor by pulsing flour, sugar, very cold unsalted butter, eggs, baking powder, and salt until combined, then chilled. The filling mixes diced fresh plums with lemon juice, flour, and sugar to lightly thicken and sweeten the fruit as it cooks.

The dessert is assembled by layering half the crumble dough, the plum filling, and topping with the remaining crumble before baking at 350°F until bubbly and golden. The result is a crisp crust with tender, bright fruit beneath.

Classic Plum Crumble can be served warm or at room temperature, making it suitable as a dessert or snack highlighting fresh plums.
