Clean and Healthy Apple Crisp Recipe (gluten free, vegan)

This apple crisp features a layered combination of sliced apples with a crumbly oat and almond flour base, topped with a sweet, date-enriched oat crumble. The use of coconut oil and maple syrup adds both moisture and natural sweetness. Baked until golden brown, the crisp offers a balance of tender baked apples and crunchy topping that can be enjoyed plain or with a vegan caramel drizzle for added richness.

Description

The Clean and Healthy Apple Crisp recipe combines gluten-free oats and almond flour to create both a sturdy bottom crust and a crumbly topping. The sliced apples are tossed with maple syrup to enhance their natural sweetness before being layered between the two oat-based components. Baking at 375°F for about 30 minutes caramelizes the topping and softens the apple slices, creating a comforting dessert with texture contrast.

Richness from the coconut oil lends moistness to the crumb layers while dates in the topping contribute natural sweetness and body. The optional vegan caramel sauce adds an extra touch of indulgence without overpowering the fresh apple flavor.

This apple crisp is well suited for those seeking a gluten-free and vegan dessert option that can be served warm or at room temperature. It’s a practical choice for a seasonal treat or whenever you want a fruit-based dessert with some texture and depth.
