Club Sandwich

You really can never go wrong with a freshly made club sandwich! This triple decker sandwich is layered with ham, cheddar cheese, bacon, turkey and fresh salad ingredients for one delicious and easy bite.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 6 lices bread (I used gluten-free bread)
  • 6 Tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 4 oz turkey slices
  • 1 large tomato sliced
  • 2 lices cheddar cheese
  • 4 oz ham slices
  • 2 lices cooked bacon cut in half
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Spread 1 tbsp of mayonnaise on one side of each slice of bread. Arrange 3 slices down on your cutting board with mayo side up. Top one slice with half of turkey, tomato slices, and a slice of cheddar cheese.
  2. Place a slice of bread with mayo side down over the first slice with cheddar cheese. Top the second slice with ham, 2 slices bacon and 2 lettuce leaves. Season with salt and pepper and place the last slice of bread over the lettuce with mayo side down. It's a three tier sandwich.
  3. Cut the sandwiches in half or quarters and serve with your favorite side.
  4. Repeat for the second clubhouse sandwich.

Notes

  • Toast the bread for the best texture. It also helps to hold everything together more than un-toasted.
  • Use fresh and ripe tomatoes and lettuce for the best flavors.
  • Thin bread is preferable over thick for an easier to eat sandwich.
  • I used gluten-free bread from Canyon Bakehouse but you are welcome to use your favorite sandwich bread.
