Cookie Monster Cookies
Description
Get the Recipe: Cookie Monster Cookies are made with cold butter, brown and granulated sugars, and a blend of flour with baking soda and baking powder to create a thick blue-tinted dough. White and regular chocolate chips are folded in before shaping the dough around whole Oreo cookies. Baking at 375°F results in cookies that appear just set when removed, firming up slightly on cooling to maintain a tender yet structured texture. The contrast between the colorful cookie dough and the classic Oreo center creates a playful and indulgent treat suitable for those wanting a twist on a classic cookie.
The dough's firmness is maintained by using cold butter and incorporating baking soda and baking powder for leavening, ensuring a nice rise and tender crumb. Blue food coloring provides the distinctive Cookie Monster look. Chilling the butter and beating the butter with sugars until smooth allows even mixing and the best texture. Fully enclosing the Oreo ensures it stays soft inside the cookie shell while baking.
These cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to four days or frozen for longer storage and reheated gently. The combination of chip varieties and Oreo center adds distinct textural and flavor contrasts that make these cookies a fun option for dessert or snacking.
