Cookies and Cream Ice Cream Recipe
Description
The recipe combines two cups of heavy cream with one and a half cups of whole milk, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract, whisking them to dissolve the sugar and blend flavors. This mixture is chilled and placed in a frozen bowl of an ice cream maker where it churns for about 20 to 30 minutes until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
Chopped Oreo cookies are folded in during the last minutes of churning to distribute cookie pieces evenly without breaking them down too much. Afterwards, the ice cream is transferred to a freezer-safe container and frozen for 4 to 6 hours to set completely.
This process results in a creamy and smooth ice cream with noticeable chunks of cookies adding crunch and a distinct chocolate sandwich cookie flavor, typical of the popular cookies and cream dessert.
