Couve a Mineira | Brazilian Collard Greens with Bacon
Description
Couve a Mineira | Brazilian Collard Greens with Bacon uses fresh collard greens thinly sliced and cooked quickly with diced smoked bacon, onions, and garlic. The bacon renders fat and browns, imparting a rich, smoky taste into the greens. The diced onion softens and adds sweetness, while the garlic contributes aromatic pungency. The greens are tossed off heat to just wilt without overcooking, preserving color and a slight crunch.
This dish is commonly served alongside hearty Brazilian meals, complementing grilled meats or stews. The interplay of tender greens with crisp bacon and pungent aromatics makes it a popular vegetable side that is both flavorful and straightforward in preparation.
