Crab and Avocado Rolls
Description
These Crab and Avocado Rolls start with succulent crab meat mixed thoroughly with finely chopped red chili, scallions, the juice and zest of lime, and creamy avocado slices. Parsley adds a fresh herbaceous note while crème fraîche and mayonnaise bind the filling, lending a smooth texture and subtle tang. The filling is seasoned with salt and black pepper to taste.
The rolls are sliced in half and can be lightly toasted and buttered for added flavor and a slight crunch. The creamy crab and avocado mixture is piled generously onto the bread bottoms, topped with fresh salad greens for crispness before closing the rolls. The contrast of soft filling, crunchy greens, and buttered bread creates a pleasant mouthfeel and balance of flavors.
These rolls work well as a light lunch or casual meal highlighting fresh seafood with complementary ingredients. The lime and chili provide brightness and mild heat that cuts through the richness of avocado and mayonnaise. Salad greens add freshness and texture, making each bite balanced and satisfying.
