Crab Avocado Salad

This Crab Avocado Salad combines diced tomatoes, red onion, and cilantro with lime juice, olive oil, and a touch of sriracha for a slightly spicy, tangy dressing. The mixture is gently folded with fresh Dungeness crab meat and served inside fresh avocado halves. The salad balances creamy avocado with the sweet, succulent crab and bright, zesty flavors for a light and satisfying dish.

Description

To make the Crab Avocado Salad, diced tomatoes, minced red onion, and cilantro are mixed with lime juice, olive oil, sriracha, and salt to create a flavorful dressing. This blend provides acidity, mild heat, and herbaceous notes that enhance the crab's natural sweetness. The dressing is gently combined with lump crab meat to preserve its delicate texture.

Ripe avocados are sliced in half and peeled or scooped, then filled with the crab salad. This presentation lets the creamy texture of the avocado contrast with the tender crab and fresh, bright elements of the tomato mixture. The addition of extra cilantro on top adds an herbal freshness.

This salad is best served immediately to enjoy the freshness of the avocado and crab. It makes a light appetizer or a refreshing main dish suitable for warm weather or as part of a seafood menu.
