Cracker Barrel Fried Apples Recipe

Report
Cracker Barrel Fried Apples are tender apple wedges cooked in butter with brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice for a balanced sweet and tangy flavor. Slow cooking until soft brings out the natural sweetness and warmth of the cinnamon. This fruit side or dessert topping offers a comforting texture with a lightly spiced, buttery coating.

Description

This recipe prepares fried apples by peeling, coring, and slicing tart apples into half-inch wedges. Tossing the slices in fresh lemon juice prevents browning and adds brightness to the final dish. Apples are gently cooked in melted butter with brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt to develop a sweet and aromatic glaze.

The apples are cooked covered over medium heat for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally until they become soft and tender but still hold their shape. The combination of butter and brown sugar creates a glossy coating, while cinnamon adds warmth and depth.

This preparation works well as a side dish for breakfast, brunch, or alongside meats. It can also be served warm as a dessert topping over pancakes, waffles, or ice cream, adding fruity sweetness with a hint of spice.

Store any leftovers in an airtight container refrigerated for up to 4 days. Reheat gently before serving to preserve texture and flavor.
