Cranberry Apple Crisp
Description
This Cranberry Apple Crisp features peeled, cored, and thinly sliced Granny Smith apples combined with cranberries, sugar, and cinnamon. The fruit mixture is placed in a baking dish and topped with a blend of flour, brown sugar, rolled oats, chopped pecans, and cold butter mixed until crumbly.
Baking at 350°F produces a crisp golden topping that contrasts with the soft, juicy fruit beneath. Cranberries contribute tartness, balanced by the sweetness of brown sugar and cinnamon in the topping.
It is versatile for serving warm—paired with vanilla ice cream—or cold as a simple dessert. The texture contrast between the bubbling fruit and crunchy nutty topping defines the dish.
Ingredients
- 4 apple peeled, cored, and sliced 1/4" thick, Granny Smith variety
- 1 cup cranberries or frozen, fresh
- ⅔ cup granulated sugar
