Cream Cheese Butter Mints

Cream Cheese Butter Mints are soft confections made by blending softened cream cheese and butter with powdered sugar and mint flavoring. The thick mixture is piped into small shapes and chilled until firm. Optional dipping in melted chocolate adds contrast in flavor and texture. These mints are smooth, creamy, and cool on the palate, suited for serving chilled as a delicate sweet.

Description

This recipe combines equal parts softened cream cheese and butter beaten with creme de menthe syrup or mint extract to achieve a creamy mint-flavored base. Gradually incorporating a large quantity of powdered sugar thickens the mixture to a firm dough that holds shape when piped or spooned onto parchment paper. Refrigerating the dollops allows them to set fully. Optionally, once firm, the mints can be dipped on one side in melted chocolate, which adds a slight bitterness and a firmer exterior after re-chilling.

The texture is rich and buttery yet light enough to melt smoothly in the mouth with a refreshing mint taste. These mints can be customized with colored food coloring to suit events or themes. They serve well as after-dinner sweets or party bites, stored cold to preserve firmness.
