Cream Cheese Mints Recipe

This Cream Cheese Mints recipe creates soft, sweet, and mint-flavored candies using cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and peppermint oil. The mints are rolled into balls and flattened, resulting in a smooth texture with a refreshing peppermint taste. They dry into a firm, cool treat that can be colored or left plain.

Description

Cream Cheese Mints blend softened cream cheese and butter with a generous amount of powdered sugar to form a dough with a creamy base. Peppermint oil adds bright flavor. After shaping the mixture into small balls and flattening them, the mints dry for a couple of hours to firm up before refrigerating or freezing to set. The texture is smooth and slightly creamy, contrasting with the sweet, cool peppermint flavor. You can add food coloring paste if you want a more festive look.

This recipe is a straightforward way to make classic peppermint candies at home with simple ingredients. The mints can be served as after-dinner refreshing sweets or given as homemade gifts during holidays.

Be sure to use peppermint oil specifically intended for baking, not essential oils, for safe consumption. The mints benefit from drying time on waxed paper to develop their texture before cold storage.
