Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter 1 stick
- 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chicken stock
- 1 cup milk or half-and-half
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 cup celery chopped and sauteed
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan melt butter over a medium-low heat
- Add in flour and whisk together until well combined
- Add chicken stock and milk, whisk until smooth, about 1-2 minutes
- Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder
- Bring to a simmer and cook until it begins to thicken, about 3-5 minutes
- Add in celery
- Remove from heat and allow to cool completely
- Store in airtight container in refrigerator
Notes
- Refrigerate for 5-7 days or you can easily freeze this soup for 3-6 months to use in future recipes.
