Creamsicle Orange Cookies

Creamsicle Orange Cookies combine softened butter, cream cheese, and orange cake mix to create a soft cookie dough with a subtle citrus flavor enhanced by orange extract. White chocolate chips add creamy pockets and optional orange food coloring brightens their appearance. After chilling, the dough is rolled in powdered sugar to form 24 individual cookies that bake to have a tender crumb with a slight sweetness and a creamy, orange-infused taste, suitable for snacking or dessert.

Description

Creamsicle Orange Cookies start with a blend of softened butter, cream cheese, and an egg beaten to smoothness, with orange extract imparting a distinct citrus note. The addition of a boxed orange cake mix provides structure and flavor, while white chocolate chips introduce bursts of sweetness throughout. Chilling the dough firms it, making it easier to shape into balls that are rolled in powdered sugar before baking. The baked cookies are soft with a gentle tang and creamy undertones from the cream cheese, offering a pleasant texture contrast. The optional food coloring is used to enhance the orange hue, reflecting their creamsicle inspiration. These cookies can be enjoyed as a sweet treat alongside a cup of tea or coffee and are well suited to gatherings or casual nibbling.
