Creamy Caesar Dressing

This Creamy Caesar Dressing combines garlic, mayonnaise, anchovy paste, Parmesan cheese, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, and fresh lemon juice. It offers a thick, savory dressing with umami depth and tangy brightness. The dressing can be chilled for flavors to meld and thinned with water if a lighter consistency is preferred. It works well topped on salads, especially with garlicky croutons.

Description

The dressing is made by whisking minced garlic with real mayonnaise, anchovy paste, finely grated Parmesan cheese, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, and fresh lemon juice. These ingredients contribute to a rich, creamy texture with salty and tangy umami flavors distinctive to Caesar dressings.

Seasoning with salt and freshly ground black pepper or crushed red chili pepper allows some heat and seasoning adjustment. The thick dressing can be refrigerated until use, which helps the flavors develop further.

For a thinner dressing, stirring in one to two tablespoons of water adjusts the consistency without diluting flavor. It pairs well with crisp salad greens and can be topped with crispy, garlicky homemade croutons for added texture.
