Creamy Ham and Noodle Casserole

This Creamy Ham and Noodle Casserole layers cooked egg noodles, chopped ham, and shredded cheddar cheese, bound together with a mixture of cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, milk, garlic, and onion powders. Baked until bubbly and creamy, it offers a hearty, comforting dish suitable for family meals and easy reheating.

Description

The casserole combines egg noodles cooked and rinsed to remove starch with chopped cooked ham and cheddar cheese layered in a buttered baking dish. A creamy sauce made from cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, milk, garlic powder, and onion powder ties the layers together.

Baking covered in foil allows the casserole to heat through evenly while preventing the top from drying out. The butter dotted on top adds richness and helps develop a slightly golden finish once baked. The resulting dish is creamy but not soupy, with tender noodles and savory ham and cheese.

This casserole serves well as a main meal or a comforting side to vegetables or salad. It reheats nicely, making it suitable for leftovers or meal prep. The method and ingredients favor convenience without sacrificing flavor.
