Creamy Shrimp Scampi

Creamy Shrimp Scampi blends tender shrimp with linguine in a sauce made from butter, garlic, white wine, lemon juice, Parmesan cheese, and heavy cream. The shrimp are cooked in a buttery garlic base before simmering with wine and lemon to create a bright, lightly acidic flavor. Combining the pasta and sauce results in a rich and creamy dish with balanced garlic and citrus notes. This recipe works well as a hearty main course suitable for dinner or special occasions.

Description

Creamy Shrimp Scampi features shrimp cooked in butter and garlic, then simmered with white wine and lemon juice to develop a bright, nuanced sauce. The addition of grated Parmesan and heavy whipping cream creates a luscious, creamy texture that coats the linguine evenly. The shrimp become pink and tender, providing a pleasing contrast to the smooth sauce and pasta.

The preparation involves melting butter, quickly cooking the garlic, and then adding shrimp followed by the liquids to simmer gently. Incorporating the cooked linguine allows the flavors to meld while the Parmesan cheese enhances savory depth. A final seasoning adjustment with salt ensures the dish is well balanced.

This scampi pairs well with simple green vegetables or a crisp salad to brighten the meal. Serving it immediately preserves the creamy texture and tenderness of the shrimp. The combination of garlic, lemon, and cream provides richness with refreshing highlights.
