Crock Pot Apple Crisp

Report
Crock Pot Apple Crisp features spiced apple pie filling topped with a crunchy oat, flour, butter, and brown sugar mixture. Slow-cooked in a crock pot, this dessert develops soft, tender apples beneath a slightly browned, crumbly topping. The gentle cooking allows the flavors to meld while keeping the topping moist and flavorful. It's commonly served warm, often paired with ice cream or whipped cream.

Description

This dessert starts with spreading canned apple pie filling into a slow cooker, providing a sweet and cinnamon-spiced base of tender apples. The topping mixes rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, melted salted butter, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt to create a textured crumble that contrasts the soft fruit below.

Cooking the crisp on high in a crock pot for about 2 to 2 ½ hours gently melts the topping and cooks the filling through without drying out. The edges brown slightly, creating variation in texture. Serving it warm with ice cream or whipped cream adds creaminess and temperature contrast.

The method is convenient because it requires minimal attention and avoids oven heating. The slow cooker produces consistent warmth ideal for evenly cooked fruit and topping.

Leftovers keep well in an airtight container refrigerated for up to one week. Reheating before serving maintains the crispy texture and warmth of the dessert.
