Crock pot Candy
Description
This candy recipe uses a slow cooker to melt and combine various chocolates and almond bark with roasted peanuts. The gentle heat of the crockpot melts the ingredients while allowing stirring periodically to blend everything evenly. The combination of white almond bark, sweet chopped chocolate, semi-sweet chocolate chips, and white chocolate chips provides a layered chocolate flavor and smooth texture to the clusters.
The roasted salted peanuts add crunch and saltiness, balancing the sweetness. Once mixed, the warm chocolate mixture is dropped by spoonfuls onto parchment-lined trays and decorated with holiday sprinkles while the chocolate is still soft to ensure decoration sticks. The clusters are then refrigerated or cooled until fully set, producing firm candies.
These candy clusters can be served immediately or stored in an airtight container in a cool place for up to two weeks, making them convenient for making ahead or gifting. They combine the ease of crockpot cooking with a festive presentation.
Notes advise using good quality chocolates for best flavor and keeping the crockpot warm during scooping to maintain scoopable consistency. Using a small cookie scoop helps create uniform cluster sizes. Decorating is done in batches for best results, and cupcake liners can be used as an alternative to trays for portioning. The recipe can be doubled, depending on crockpot size.
Ingredients
- 4 ounces sweet chocolate chopped into small pieces, German, 113g
- 2 pounds white almond bark chopped into small pieces. Might be labeled as white candy coating, 907g

- 2 pounds peanuts roasted and salted, 907g
- holiday sprinkles to your taste
Instructions
- Lightly spray the crockpot insert and add in all the ingredients.
- Cover and cook on low for 1-2 hours. After the first hour, stir the mixture every 20 minutes.
- Drop spoonfuls of the candy mix onto baking sheets lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat, stopping after every 6 or so to add Christmas sprinkles.
- Allow candy to set for at least one hour in a cool place - preferably a refrigerator - until set.
- Serve immediately, or store the candy inside an airtight container in a cool area.
Notes
- Use good quality chocolate to enhance the candy's flavor.
- Keep the crockpot on to maintain warmth during the scooping process for easier handling.
- Use a small cookie scoop to make evenly sized candy clusters.
- Add sprinkles while the clusters are still warm to help them adhere properly.
- Scoop clusters in small batches, decorating each group before proceeding to maintain effectiveness.
- Consider using cupcake liners instead of scooping directly onto trays for easier serving.
- The recipe can be doubled if your crockpot is large enough to accommodate all ingredients.
- Store finished candy clusters in an airtight container in a cool place for up to two weeks to maintain freshness.
