Crock Pot Chocolate Fondue
Description
This chocolate fondue begins by placing semi-sweet and milk chocolate chips combined with heavy whipping cream, vanilla extract, and a small amount of salt into a crock pot. Cooking on low heat for one to two hours while stirring intermittently allows the chocolate to melt evenly and blend into a creamy sauce without burning.
The resulting fondue is rich and velvety, smooth enough to coat dippers like marshmallows, graham crackers, pretzels, fruit, or cake pieces. Maintaining the fondue on the crock pot's warm setting keeps it fluid during serving, enhancing the dipping experience.
Leftover fondue can be stored in an airtight container for up to one week. When reheating, adding extra cream or milk helps loosen the chocolate if it thickens after refrigeration. This ensures an easy restoration to smooth dipping consistency without compromising texture.
Ingredients
- 12 oz chocolate chips semi-sweet
- 6 oz milk chocolate chips
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- marshmallow graham crackers, pretzels, fruit, cake, etc, for dipping
Instructions
- Place the chocolate, heavy whipping cream, vanilla extract and salt in a small crock pot. I used a 2 quart crock pot for this recipe.
- Cover on low for 1-2 hours, stirring every 20-30 minutes, until fully melted.
- Then serve with your favorite dippers and enjoy!
Notes
- Store leftover fondue in an airtight container for up to one week.
- Add cream or milk when reheating to thin the chocolate if it thickens in storage.
