Crock pot Korean BBQ Recipe
Description
The Crock pot Korean BBQ Recipe uses flank steak cooked slowly in a mixture of soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, diced onion, and corn starch. This combination of ingredients creates a balanced sweet, salty, and slightly spicy sauce. Cooking the steak on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours in the crock pot allows the meat to tenderize and absorb all the flavors deeply.
Once cooked, the steak is removed and cut into pieces or shredded, then returned to the pot to soak in the remaining sauce. The starch helps thicken the sauce slightly during cooking. The finished dish offers tender meat with a rich, glossy coating and a warm spice hint from the red pepper flakes.
Serving this Korean BBQ over rice provides a filling meal that is well suited to casual dinners or meal prep. Topping with sliced green onions and sesame seeds, as suggested, adds freshness and additional texture contrast. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week, maintaining quality for several meals.
This recipe's straightforward preparation and slow cooking technique make it a practical option for infusing meat with Korean-inspired flavors without needing extensive active cooking time.
