Crock Pot Low Carb Pizza Casserole
Description
The casserole starts by browning ground beef seasoned with salt and pepper, then mixing it with mozzarella cheese before spreading it in a crock pot. A homemade pizza sauce of crushed tomatoes combined with Italian seasoning and garlic salt is poured over the meat and cheese base. Additional mozzarella and chosen pizza toppings are evenly layered on top, followed by a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese to add flavor depth and a golden finish.
Cooking on low heat for four hours allows the flavors to develop and cheese to melt thoroughly, creating a cohesive dish that highlights classic pizza tastes without a traditional dough or crust. The layered structure provides a varied texture with the tender meat and creamy cheeses balanced by the tomato sauce’s acidity.
Leftovers should be stored in airtight containers for up to five days. The casserole is flexible for toppings, such as pepperoni or vegetables, allowing customization according to preference.
