  • 7 oz mozzarella cheese (sliced)

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken in the bottom of the slow cooker. I used a 6 quart slow cooker.
  2. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Spread the pesto sauce over the chicken and place the butter on top.
  4. Cook on low for 5-7 hours or on high for 2.5-3.5 hours until chicken is cooked through (165 degrees F).
  5. 15 minutes before ready to serve top the chicken with the sliced mozzarella cheese. Cover and cook until the cheese is melted.
  6. Serve immediately and while warm.

Notes

  • Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to five days.
  • You may substitute chicken thighs to replace breasts but monitor cooking time for proper doneness.
