Crock Pot Ranch Pork Chops

This recipe creates tender pork chops cooked slowly in a mixture of cream of chicken soup, garlic, thyme, black pepper, and ranch seasoning. The slow cooking infuses the meat with a savory, creamy gravy, and can be finished with fresh parsley for garnish. It allows for flexible cooking times depending on chop size and can be adapted for oven preparation. The optional cornstarch thickens the sauce for a rich finish.

Description

The Crock Pot Ranch Pork Chops combine thick-cut pork chops with a creamy mixture of condensed cream of chicken soup, fresh garlic, dried thyme, ground black pepper, and ranch salad dressing seasoning mix. Cooked slowly in a greased slow cooker, the pork chops absorb the flavors, resulting in a juicy, tender meat infused with the savory, herby ranch sauce. The cornstarch option helps to provide a thicker gravy to spoon over the pork. Cooking times vary based on the pork cut size, ensuring the meat reaches a safe internal temperature of 145°F without overcooking.

Slow cooking allows the flavors to meld gently around the pork, making it suitable for an easy meal that doesn't require much active preparation. The pork can be garnished with fresh chopped parsley or thyme, adding a touch of color and freshness.

This dish can be served as a main course alongside vegetables or starches of choice. Additionally, the recipe includes an alternative method for baking the pork chops in the oven with the same sauce mixture, making it adaptable to different kitchen appliances and preferences.

Careful monitoring of cooking times is suggested for smaller or leaner pork chops to prevent dryness. Adjust seasoning to taste after cooking, and consider using an instant-read thermometer for best doneness.

Notes

  • Adjust slow cooker time to 2-3 hours on low for smaller or leaner pork chops to avoid overcooking.
  • Oven-bake option: cook pork chops covered with sauce at 325°F for 40-45 minutes until they reach 145°F internally.
  • Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure pork is cooked to 145°F for juicy results.
  • Optional cornstarch thickens the gravy if desired; add chicken broth or water to thin if it becomes too thick in oven baking.
