Crock Pot Salty Sweet Candy

Crock Pot Salty Sweet Candy blends various forms of white chocolate with crunchy dry roasted peanuts and broken pretzel twists. The white chocolate melts slowly and evenly in the slow cooker to create a creamy, sweet coating that wraps around the salty nuts and pretzels. After spooning the mixture onto parchment to set, it forms bite-sized clusters often topped with festive sprinkles. This candy combines sweet, salty, and crunchy textures into a confection that is ideal for snack time or gifting around holidays.

Description

The Crock Pot Salty Sweet Candy recipe involves melting three types of white chocolate—the candy coating, baking bar, and chips—in a slow cooker on a low setting. This slow and steady melting produces a smooth and creamy chocolate base. The incorporation of dry roasted peanuts and small broken pretzel pieces introduces contrasting crunch and a salty balance to the sweetness of the white chocolate. Once mixed thoroughly, spoonfuls are dropped onto a lined baking sheet and optionally decorated with sprinkles. After setting for at least an hour, the candy firms up into bite-sized treats that combine sweet, salty, and crunchy elements.

The confection is served as pieces that hold together thanks to the melted white chocolate acting as a binder. The use of different white chocolate forms ensures a thick and luscious coating that evenly surrounds the mix-ins. The nuts and pretzels bring textural interest and seasoning contrast that prevents the candy from being overly sweet. Festive sprinkles add a visual touch when desired.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 2 pounds white chocolate candy coating
  • 6- ounce white chocolate baking bar
  • 12 ounces white chocolate chips
  • 3 cups peanuts dry roasted
  • 2 ½ cups pretzel twists broken in small pieces
  • Sprinkles if desired, festive

Instructions

  1. Place white chocolate candy coating, white chocolate baking bar, white chocolate chips in a slow cooker. Put lid in place.
  2. Heat candy for 1 to 1.5 hours on LOW until melted. Uncover and stir the chocolate mixture.
  3. Stir in peanuts and broken pretzels until completely coated in the candy.
  4. Drop by spoonfuls (I like to use a small cookie scoop) onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat. If desired, top candy with sprinkles while chocolate is still soft. Allow candy to set for at least one hour to set up.
