Crockpot Buttered Garlic Mushrooms
Description
The recipe uses about two pounds of fresh whole mushrooms cleaned by brushing off dirt. Butter is melted and combined with crushed garlic, Italian seasoning, and salt, then poured over the mushrooms in the crockpot. Cooking on low heat for three hours allows the mushrooms to soften and absorb the seasoned butter without becoming mushy. The slow cooking draws out mushroom juices, creating a flavorful base liquid.
This method produces tender mushrooms with a balanced garlic aroma and herbal notes from the Italian seasoning. Serving them garnished with fresh parsley adds a subtle freshness and color contrast, making them suitable as a side dish for various meals.
The liquid left in the crockpot after cooking is flavorful and can be reserved for further use, such as cooking rice or preparing a creamy sauce, adding an economical benefit. Any common small or medium whole mushrooms like Baby Bellas, Button, Beech, Brown, or Chestnut mushrooms are suitable for this recipe.

- 2 lb mushrooms see note 1, fresh whole
- 1 butter stick
