Crockpot Pierogi Casserole

Report
Crockpot Pierogi Casserole layers frozen cheddar-filled pierogies with smoked kielbasa, cream cheese, chicken broth, and shredded cheddar cheese, slow-cooked until creamy and bubbly. The combination yields a rich, hearty casserole blending the tender pierogies with savory sausage and melted cheeses, finished with green onions for a fresh note.

Description

This casserole starts by slicing smoked polska kielbasa and placing it into a crock pot, adding chopped cream cheese and frozen pierogies. Seasoned with salt and pepper, chicken broth is poured in to provide moisture and help cook the pierogies through a gentle simmer. Cooking on low for three hours allows the flavors to meld and pierogies to soften without overcooking.

Thirty minutes before serving, shredded cheddar cheese is stirred in and melted, enriching the casserole with creamy texture and sharp flavor. Topping with sliced green onions adds brightness and color just before serving. This dish is ideal as a simple dinner, pairing sausage, cheese, and tender dumplings in one pot.

Serving with a salad complements the heaviness of the casserole. The slow cooker method reduces active cooking time and keeps the dish warm until ready to eat.
