Crockpot Ravioli and Sausage
Description
The recipe begins by combining cooked Italian sausage with crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and minced garlic. Folding in frozen cheese ravioli ensures the pasta absorbs the sauce’s flavors as it cooks slowly in a crockpot over several hours.
Slow cooking at low heat allows the ravioli to soften without falling apart, while the sausage infuses the sauce with savory richness. The seasoned tomato base has a balanced herbaceous profile, complemented by fresh grated Parmesan served on top for an added salty, nutty finish.
This dish is practical for hands-off preparation and works well as a comforting weeknight dinner. The sauce quantity and seasoning can be adjusted according to preference. It pairs well with a simple green salad or steamed vegetables to balance the richness.
The notes mention options to omit sausage or substitute with ground beef or turkey, and that leftovers keep for up to five days refrigerated in an airtight container.
Ingredients
- 1 pound Italian sausage browned and drained, ground
- 2 cans crushed tomatoes (14.5 oz each)
- 1 can tomato sauce (15 oz can)

- 1 pound cheese ravioli frozen
- Parmesan Cheese for serving, fresh
