Crockpot Spaghetti

Crockpot Spaghetti sauce combines ground beef and Italian sausage browned before slow cooking in a crockpot with a blend of tomato sauce, diced and stewed tomatoes, tomato paste, and a mix of Italian herbs and seasonings. The long, slow cooking melds flavors into a rich, hearty sauce, ready to serve over cooked spaghetti noodles. The recipe yields a large batch suitable for freezing or refrigerating leftovers.

Description

This sauce starts with browning equal parts ground beef and mild Italian sausage, which are then transferred to a crockpot. The slow cooker is filled with tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, stewed tomatoes, and tomato paste, along with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, dried basil and oregano, and a touch of sugar to balance acidity. The mixture cooks on low heat for 8 to 10 hours, allowing flavors to deepen and meld thoroughly.

The result is a thick, flavorful sauce ideal for serving with spaghetti noodles. The recipe produces a considerable amount of sauce, making it practical for meal prep, leftovers, or freezing for future meals. Reheating can be done gently in a crockpot or saucepan, or quickly in a microwave for smaller portions.
