Crunchwrap Supreme (skillet recipe)

Report
The Crunchwrap Supreme skillet recipe combines seasoned ground beef, warm flour tortillas, crunchy tostada shells, and layers of sour cream, lettuce, tomato, and pepper jack cheese. Folding these ingredients tightly into a tortilla and cooking seam-side down in a skillet creates a handheld wrap with a mix of textures, including the crisp tostada center and the melty cheese. This stovetop version brings a homemade touch to a popular fast-food item without the need for deep frying.

Description

Crunchwrap Supreme (skillet recipe) features seasoned ground meat cooked with taco seasoning and water, layered with nacho cheese, lettuce, sour cream, diced tomato, and shredded pepper jack cheese inside a burrito-sized flour tortilla. A tostada shell adds crunch in the middle. The edges of the tortilla are carefully folded up and over the fillings to contain them.

Cooking the assembled wrap seam-side down in a pan over medium heat crisps the outside and helps the filling meld together, resulting in a handheld wrap that balances savory, creamy, and crispy elements. This method avoids baking or deep frying, relying on skillet toasting for a crisp finish.

The recipe yields six crunchwraps, convenient for a casual meal or snack, and they can be customized with preferred toppings.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 lb ground meat
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 6 flour tortilla burrito size
  • 6 tostada shells
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups lettuce shredded
  • 1 Roma tomato diced
  • 1 cup pepper jack cheese shredded
  • nacho cheese

Instructions

  1. In a skillet or large cooking pan, cook and crumble the ground beef over medium-high heat. When it is no longer pink, stir in the taco seasoning and the water.
  2. Warm up the nacho cheese sauce in the microwave and set aside.
  3. Place the flour tortillas on a plate and warm in the microwave for about 20 seconds.
  4. Lay one tortilla on a flat surface. Spread a couple of tablespoons of nacho cheese in the middle of the tortilla.
  5. Place ½ cup of taco meat on top of the nacho cheese.
  6. Next, add the tostada shell, a thin layer of sour cream, lettuce, tomato, and lastly, the shredded pepper jack cheese.
  7. To fold into the actual crunchwrap, start with the bottom of the tortilla and fold the edge up to the center of the fillings. Keep doing that, folding as tight as possible, as you work your way around the tortilla.
  8. Spray another skillet or cooking pan with cooking spray and heat over medium heat. Place the crunchwrap supreme, seam-side down, onto the skillet. Cook for 2-3 min., or until golden brown.
  9. Flip over and cook the other side for another 2-3 min or until golden brown.
  10. Cook the rest of your crunchwraps and eat immediately.
